Qenos Botany - A Case Study

Results at Australia's largest petrochemical complex, Qenos (formerly ICI) at Botany, NSW, show that by using Consteam's approach to steam system studies, steam cost savings of almost 60% were achieved. The above graph shows steam consumption on the petrochemical plant, and is taken fom the plant Digital Control System (DCS). The two distinct step changes shown correspond to plant shutdowns where Consteam's recommendations were implemented. The small rise in steam consumption prior to the second shutdown shows how any steam system will degrade over time, and hence requires regular auditing and maintenance.
